FLUX.1 [dev] is the “base” model from Black Forest Labs. It’s more capable than schnell but requires more steps (and more computational power) to get there. It’s perfect for when quality matters more than raw speed.

  • Superior Quality: Better textures, better lighting, and more “soul” than the turbo models.
  • Strong Guidance: It follows complex prompts with impressive accuracy.
  • Great for Fine-Tuning: If you want to train a LoRA, this is usually the model you start with.

  • Estimated Cost: ~$0.0038 per Megapixel.
  • Example (1024x1024): Still super cheap, but about 2-3x the cost of Schnell.
